Meet Our Gunsmiths
– LEAD GUNSMITH –
Jeremiah Pratt
Growing up in Michigan, Jeremiah spent many years enjoying the outdoors and most of those days involved firearms. Whether he was sighting in a rifle, practicing handgun fundamentals, shooting clays, or hunting that big whitetail buck, he knew one thing: Firearms were his passion and he wanted them to be his career one way or another.
While attending college for Mechanical Engineering he heard about the Colorado School of Trades and their ability to produce some of the finest Gunsmiths in America. The decision was simple, he left Michigan and pursued his dreams. At CST he excelled in the machine shop and specialized in 1911 building. After graduating from CST he was offered a job with Fortress Arms in Texas as a Gunsmith and custom 1911 builder where he spent 5 years perfecting his trade, grew the company, and built up a reputation in the community. He now joins Saddle River Range bringing a modern take on the Gunsmithing world specializing in custom 1911’s, Precision Boltguns, Glock grip work, slide cuts and Cerakote.
– GUNSMITH –
Travis Martin
Travis was born and raised in the small town of Early, Iowa. He was taught at an young age that hunting and firearms were a way to resource food. His first gun was a Remington 870 Pump 20 Gauge and a Remington 760 Pump 30-06. When he moved to Colorado he got hooked on mountain and varmint hunting.
In 2007, Travis joined The United States Marine Corps and was deployed three times in his ten-year career. While deployed he always hated waiting on others to make repairs to his guns when they didn’t work properly as opposed to making the repairs himself.
While in the Marine Corps, he was hand selected for the Precision Marksmanship Team. The Marksmanship Team members were given more freedom to make modifications and improvements to their weapons provided they stayed within the parameters of the rule book. This is what led Travis to enroll in Gunsmith School.
He attended Colorado School of Trades in Lakewood, Colorado and graduated with and Associates of Gunsmithing. He loves working on older firearms, Long-range Precision Bolt actions, and teaching his kids how to shoot and respect the outdoors.
